    I get bad hamstring cramps. Very bad. I almost didn't make it to the shallow side last night cuz it was so bad. I was basically swimming with one arm and leg cuz I was holding my leg while trying to push.

    The suits were banned after the guy from Germany broke the 400m Freestyle WR using the more buoyant suits. Phelps worked his tail off to break that WR and threatened to retire from swimming if they don’t ban the synthetic suits, which FINA eventually did.

    My daughter, May Li, did this back dolphin kick on her freestyle since 2013 in Canada racing and showed this technique at 2015-2016 USA season and NCAA D3 final.

    Every swimmer knows that backstroke dolphin kick is faster. As you are facing the surface (less pressure/ less water over you) you are kicking directly to that part of the pool. Balance is not. If you do a properly turn you can sustain a great streamline.

    Im a smoker, but I've held my breath under water for 2mins18 seconds. I did it buy not moving. I made myself into a ball by hugging my legs up to my chest, and squeezing the blood to my brain. I could have gone longer as I can naturally hold it for over a minute. The wife got worried😂 So surfaced for a well deserved kiss❤😔

    I seem to remember that the Lotche rule came about because of his butterfly. Still no matter. The supposed reasoning behind it was that he had some mechanical advantage when using the dolphin kick on his back. I have never heard any reason that made any sense, as to how there was a mechanical advantage....

    Any really good coach realizes that all people/swimmers are different and the same techniques won't work for all swimmers. I had some guy who tried to coach me for a bit. Didn't take long for me to figure that he was one of the "There are only 2 ways to swim, my way, and the wrong way." He didn't last long with me.
